The Story-Filled Shops of Menorca: My Favourite Addresses

The Story-Filled Shops of Menorca:
My Favourite Addresses
Shopping in Menorca is one of the island’s most enjoyable surprises. Beyond its beautiful beaches, Menorca has a wonderful creative scene, filled with local designers, artisans, and independently owned boutiques. Rather than international chains, you’ll find thoughtfully curated shops with plenty of character.
The island’s two main towns, Mahón and Ciutadella, are particularly rewarding for shopping, each offering a collection of beautiful boutiques, design stores, and local brands. What makes the experience even more special is that many shop owners are often in the store themselves, happy to share the stories behind their creations and businesses.
A small tip: during the summer months, it’s best to explore the shops either in the morning before noon or in the early evening, when the temperatures are much more pleasant.
Here are some of my favourite addresses on the island:
Casa M (Mahon)
Opened in 2021 by Mireille Robertson, who now runs the store together with her sister Christine Jacob, Casa M is a beautifully curated concept store tucked away in the historic streets of Mahón.
Designed more like a home than a traditional shop, it offers a refined selection of homeware, textiles, ceramics, accessories and clothing. I particularly loved the way they styled the table showcasing their home linens in one of the back rooms. Meeting the owner made the visit even more memorable. Some places stay with you not because of what they sell, but because of the atmosphere they create — Casa M is exactly that kind of place.

Deu i Deu (Fornells)
While wandering through the charming fishing village of Fornells, Deu i Deu is a stop not to miss. Founded by Anna and Carla Profitos, this interior design and lifestyle studio beautifully combines natural materials, craftsmanship and understated Mediterranean elegance.
Their carefully curated selection includes ceramics, textiles, decorative objects and home accessories. I left with a set of ikat-patterned placemats made from the same fabrics they use for wallpaper and upholstery — one of my favourite finds on the island.

Ansa per Ansa (Ciutadella)
Founded in 2010 by Yola Febrer after nearly twenty years in banking, Ansa per Ansa is a wonderful example of following a creative passion.
Craftsmanship, sustainability and attention to detail are at the heart of the brand. I was especially drawn to their signature baskets, covered in colourful and beautifully patterned fabrics that transform a traditional piece into something unique and contemporary.

Espacio 5 & Espacio 22 (Ciutadella)
These two sister stores are among Ciutadella’s most interesting shopping destinations.
Espacio 22, located in the heart of town, feels part gallery, part concept store. Fashion, home décor, ceramics, art objects, books and small design pieces are thoughtfully displayed alongside creations by both local Menorcan designers and international brands. It’s a place full of surprises.
Espacio 5 focuses more on fashion and is located on one of Ciutadella’s prettiest shopping streets. A perfect stop for anyone looking to build a chic island wardrobe.

The Room (Ciutadella)
An elegant boutique carrying a carefully selected collection of contemporary brands including American Vintage, Laurence Bras, Soeur and Arquinesia. Perfect for effortless Mediterranean style.

BOBA’S (Mahon)
A small workshop dedicated to handcrafting Menorca’s traditional avarca sandals. A lovely place to discover one of the island’s most iconic products.

Can Sab (Mahon)
Hidden among the old streets of Mahón, Can Sab is one of Menorca’s most distinctive concept stores. Founded by former Madame Figaro journalist Sabine Carrance, the boutique effortlessly blends vintage treasures with contemporary design.
Stepping inside feels less like entering a shop and more like exploring the rooms of a beautifully decorated home. Vintage furniture, ceramics, artwork, lighting, jewellery, textiles and objects sourced from local Balearic artisans sit alongside unique pieces collected from across Spain and around the world.
It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time while discovering beautiful and unexpected finds.

Nude
With stores in both Mahón and Ciutadella, Nude offers a stylish selection of clothing and accessories. I was particularly taken by their beautiful fabric bags.

Enjoy!
